Key Responsibilities

• The Graduate Trainees will undergo comprehensive training across various departments at Wartsila O&M sites, encompassing Operations and Maintenance.

• Additionally, the Graduate Trainees will receive training in specific functions, such as Electrical, Mechanical, or Operator roles.

• The Trainees will actively seek out information about the company and participate in On-the-Job Training (OJT) whenever possible. They will maintain a record of their experiences and create a learning log.

• Trainees will be encouraged to take part in meetings, workshops, and team-building activities.

• As part of their responsibilities, the Trainees will be required to compile reports and deliver presentations to other staff members.

• Trainees will be expected to analyze existing systems and propose new ideas and areas for improvement.

• Additionally, Trainees will conduct research and provide assistance to their managers or supervisors whenever needed.

• Throughout the Graduate Trainee program, Trainees will be evaluated through tests and monthly report submissions.

• The duration of the Graduate Trainee program will be one year, during which Trainees will receive on-the-job training.

• Trainees will be educated on operating and maintaining the power plant in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Safety regulations, including isolation, lockout, tag out procedures, and emergency protocols, will be an essential part of the Trainees’ learning to ensure personnel and equipment protection in the event of safety device failure or damage.

• Trainees will be trained in the proper usage of all tools, equipment, and accessories to maximize their useful operating life.

Requirements

• Course of study sought – Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. We are interested in candidates with similar qualifications in the relevant fields.
• Requirements – Applicants must possess at least an HND, BSc, B.Tech, or B.ENG in any of the engineering disciplines mentioned above.
• Having completed the NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) is compulsory, and candidates should ideally have 0 – 2 years of post NYSC experience.
• Applicants should be no older than 27 years as of December 2022.
