FINANCIAL MANAGER AT NESTOIL PLC

As a Financial Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Develop/update and implement financial and accounting policies, procedures, and strategies across the Group in collaboration with the Financial Control (FC).
  • Support the development of annual plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics for the Group to guide business operations and strategy execution.
  • Establish company-wide standards for system, data, and processes in coordination with the FC and guide the implementation of finance SOPs across the group.
  • Design and ensure compliance with tax and other statutory provisions, establishing a sound accounting framework.
  • Maintain sound financial controls across the group’s operations.
  • Coordinate the capturing of financial transactions and consolidation of accounts from all business units and functions.
  • Prepare accurate, comprehensive, and timely financial and management information, including tax, cash flow, and statutory accounts.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the company’s financial reports and manage the statutory reporting process, setting timetables and providing guidelines to operational finance teams.
  • Reconcile intra-group balances and investigate and resolve variances with finance teams.
  • Maintain ongoing liaison with external bodies/contacts such as regulatory organizations, auditors, solicitors, and banks.
  • Prepare and submit “Letters of Credit” to the bank for product importation approval.
  • Oversee the computation and remittance of taxes, payment of insurance premiums, and other statutory fees.
  • Provide technical training, guidance, and advice on financial accounting issues, developments, and trends.
  • Review and present timely reports to the FC based on weekly reports from various departments/functional units.
  • Assist the Financial Officer (FO) in financial risk management and control.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures and comply with safe work methods.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Line Manager.

What are we looking for

  • Required Qualifications:
    • First Degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Economics.
    • Post-graduate degree (advantageous).
    • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
    • At least 5 years at the management level.
    • Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Financial management experience and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret reports, statements, and projections.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong integrity.
    • Competency in automated financial accounting and reporting applications.
    • Familiarity with local and international financial regulatory standards.
    • Intuitiveness and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and leadership skills.
