Details (Town Planner Trainee):

• Successful candidates undergo 1-year training under the scheme.
• After completing the program, candidates receive a permanent employment offer with the Edo State Government.

Job Description​

• Predict population demands for urban and rural areas.
• Prepare reports and plans for projects related to Masterplans.
• Review and evaluate technical environmental impact reports for private and public projects.
• Zone lands for different uses and select sites for special development projects (schools, stadiums, railways, etc.).
• Prepare preliminary designs for layout plans and civic designs.
• Conduct site investigations for Government projects and public schemes.
• Collect physical and social survey data for town planning decisions.
• Examine building plans and physical development proposals.
• Assist in preserving environmentally, historically, and archaeologically important buildings and areas.
• Mediate community disputes and offer alternate plans and recommendations for programs or projects.
• Coordinate the work of urban planning officers, staff, technical technicians, and technologists.

Qualifications​

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (minimum Second Class Lower) or HND (minimum Lower Credit) in Urban and Regional Planning.
• Additional Advantage: Evidence of TOPREC registration.
• Requirement: NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate for candidates.
• Skills: Computer literacy, good interpersonal/leadership skills, and ability to work effectively in teams.
• Age Range: Applicants must be within 22-30 years old.
• Preferred Experience: Experience with CAD&GIS Tools will be an added advantage.
