ELIGIBILITY

1. Nationality/Citizenship: In order to be eligible for the Rhode Trust Scholarships, you must not qualify for any existing Rhodes constituency. If you have a strong connection to a Rhodes constituency but don’t meet their eligibility criteria, you should consider inter-jurisdictional consideration rather than the Global Scholarship.

2. Age: There are different age criteria you must meet:

• You must be between 18 and 24 years old on 1st October 2023 (born after 1st October 1998 and before 2nd October 2005). Alternatively, if you are a medical, dental, pharmaceutical, law, or engineering student, you may be eligible to apply in order to complete your professional internship.
• You must be between 18 and 25 years old on 1st October 2023 (born after 1st October 1997 and before 2nd October 2005). This applies to older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual.
• You must be under the age of 27 on 1st October 2023 (born after 1st October 1996) and have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1st October 2022.

3. Academic achievement: To be considered, you must have already obtained an undergraduate degree, typically a Bachelor’s degree, with academic credentials and grades that meet or exceed the specific entry requirements of your chosen full-time course at the University of Oxford. Since competition for admission to Oxford is highly competitive, having a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent will increase your chances of successful admission.

4. English language: You need to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English that meets the University of Oxford’s English language requirements at the Higher Level. However, if English is your first language and you are a citizen of and have primarily resided in a majority English-speaking country, you are exempt from meeting the English language requirement.
