Scholarship Details
Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), in conjunction with its Joint Venture (JV) partner, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), is providing several University Scholarship Awards to eligible Nigerian students from every state in the Federation.
This scholarship initiative represents a significant aspect of its strategic commitment to fostering educational advancement in Nigeria.
Points to Note:
- Applications that are not submitted through the web portal will not be taken into consideration.
- SCHOLASTICA serves as the designated platform for the NNPC/CNL JV National University Scholarship program.
- No computer-based test will be conducted; selection of successful candidates will be based on academic indices from submitted credentials.
- Accurate and complete information is required from all students who are interested.
- Applicants for the NNPC/CNL JV National University Scholarship program are not eligible for any other scholarship sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), or any of their affiliates.
- No payments are necessary for applicants and successful candidates. The application for the 2023 NNPC/CNL JV National University Scholarship program is completely free of charge..

- Candidates who submit fraudulent documentation will face disqualification or removal from the scholarship selection process.
- The scholarship, if granted, is non-transferable to any other university or field of study.
REQUIREMENTS/ ELIGIBILITY
E-applications are invited from:
1) Please note that only full-time students in their second year (200 level) pursuing any of the following courses in Nigerian universities are eligible to apply. Please ensure you confirm your academic session before submitting your application. (Please note that this refers to students admitted in the 2021/2022 academic session.):
- Accountancy
- Agricultural Science
- Architecture
- Business Administration/Economics
- Computer Science
- Environmental Studies/Surveying
- Geology/Geophysics/Geo Informatics
- Law
- Mass Communication/Journalism
- Engineering
- Dentistry
- Pharmacy
- Medicine/Surgery
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants are required to possess a CGPA of at least 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent.
- To be considered, applicants must possess at least six O-level credits obtained in a single examination session.
2) Scholarships are being provided by the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture exclusively for second-year (200 LEVEL) degree students who are blind or visually impaired and are pursuing any course at Nigerian Universities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in a 5.0 grade system or equivalent.
- A minimum of five O-level credits is required for applicants.
QUALIFICATION PROCESS: Interested applicants should visit the “How To Apply” tab for further instructions.
Also, applications will only be accepted through the provided web address. Hard copies will not be processed.
Multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Prepare the following documents before starting the application:
- Passport photograph (450px by 450px, not more than 200kb, taken within the last 6 months)
- School ID card
- Admission Letter
- Birth Certificate
- O’ Level Result
- JAMB Result
- Local Government Area Letter of Identification
- Name the documents appropriately to avoid confusion during upload.
- Attach the required documents when prompted to upload.
To apply, follow these steps:
- Click on the “Apply Now” tab.
- To create an account, simply click the “Register Now” button.
- Activate your account by checking your email and following the instructions.
- Go to https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/2023CNLawards to return to the Scholarship site.
- Log in with your registered email and password to upload your information.
- Please supply your personal details, including your National Identification Number if applicable, educational background, additional information, and submit the necessary scanned documents.
- Ensure the names used in the application match the names on all documents. If that is not the case, please provide a sworn affidavit or certificate.
- Review all uploaded documents to avoid errors.
- Please ensure that you utilize a passport photograph with a white background when requested to upload a photo.
- Double-check the application information to prevent errors.
- Go back to “Active Scholarships” and select the desired scheme. Kindly choose the option “Apply Now” to submit the required information.
- You will receive a notification on the screen and via email confirming your successful application. To confirm, check “My application” under the “My account” section in your profile.
- Please visit www.scholastica.ng, access your account using your email and password, and retrieve your profile. Ensure that the document is signed by your Head of Department.
- Please provide a scanned version of the signed profile for verification.
- If you don’t have a National Identification Number (NIN) from step 6,
- visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and obtain your NIN.
- Follow the instructions, complete the form, and schedule a date for photo and fingerprint capture.
- Visit any of the 37 capture centres provided at http://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres or visit the NIMC office to complete the registration and obtain your NIN.
Please revisit www.scholastica.ng and provide your National Identification Number (NIN) in order to finalize your application.
