Details (Architect Trainee):

• Successful candidates undergo 1-year training under the scheme.
• After completing the program, candidates receive a permanent employment offer with the Edo State Government.

Job Description

• Engage in building design activities
• Collaborate with sponsors, beneficiaries, and allied professionals to assess project requirements and feasibilities
• Develop designs and specifications for public buildings
• Conduct inspections of new developments, projects, or building conversions for compliance with the Masterplan
• Manage architectural firms or consultants contracted by the State for executing Masterplan elements
• Review and approve private sector designs in alignment with the Masterplan
• Periodically educate the public on Masterplan details and its significance in adhering to it.

Qualifications

• Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (minimum of Second Class Lower) or HND (minimum of Lower Credit).
  • Master’s Degree in Architecture and ARCON registration are advantageous.
  • NIA registration is also advantageous.

• NYSC Certification:

  • Candidates must possess NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.

• Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills are necessary.
  • Ability to effectively work in teams.

• Age Limit:

  • Applicants must be within the age range of 22-30.

• Additional Advantages:

  • Experience in CAD&GIS Tools is beneficial.
