AIM OF THE MOHERE 2024 – Master of Science in One Health and Emergency Research Ethics

The program’s objective is to cultivate exceptional individuals capable of ensuring ethical planning, conduct, review, and regulation of One Health and emergency research. Additionally, it aims to equip participants to provide consultancy services for the ethical implementation of public health interventions at the intersection of human, animal, and environmental aspects.

EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS

After finishing their studies, graduates can find employment as Bioethicists, offering technical assistance to numerous and expanding Institutional Ethics Review committees in Kenya and the surrounding sub-region. 

Consequently, their job prospects may include positions at universities, research institutions, national and county governments, regulatory bodies, hospitals, and clinical trial sites.

ADMISSION OPEN TO

Admission is open to people working in various government ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as individuals employed in private institutions, health facilities, educational and research organizations, international agencies, and local non-governmental organizations.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1). Possess a first degree in Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing sciences, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine; or a first degree (with at least Upper Second-Class Honors) in any of the following areas of study: Basic and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Environmental Health, Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, and Law.

2). Have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience after obtaining their degree, or hold a professional qualification in the mentioned fields or other relevant areas. Alternatively, candidates with a Lower Second-Class Honors can also qualify if they have a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant area.

3). Applicants with a Pass degree should have three years of relevant post-degree experience or possess a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant area.
